Sephora VIB Haul

Sephora just ran their VIB/VIB Rouge sale, so naturally I thought it would be the perfect time to stock up on some essentials and try some new product! =)

Here’s s look at what I picked up:

Caviar Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner (Travel Sizes) – The sales associate recommended I give this line a try, but since they are so spendy ($55 for a value set of shampoo and conditioner), I just couldn’t pull the trigger on the full sizes. If these work well I will stop back in on Monday and get them. =) She told me they are great at repairing damage and should make my hair super soft… but we shall see…

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer – This it felt so amazingly smooth and silky in the store! It claims to reduce pore size and help minimize shine, and also includes a SPF 15; which is always a plus. If this feels as good on my face as it did on my hand, I think this may be my new go-to.

Dior Diorific Vernis Nail Polish in Smoky – First of all, I just love the packaging of this polish! I think Dior has made their holiday collection polishes into little bobbles like this for the last few years (if not longer, I’m just not sure), and I think it is the cutest thing! =) I’m a sucker, I know. This is a sparkling plum color that would look perfect topped with their gold leaf polish (Golden Shock), but since I already have a couple very similar OPI’s at home, I passed on that one.

Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in Dark Brown – Everyone everywhere has been raving about this eyebrow pencil, so recently I decided to give it a go. I have been a powder girl for years, and was very skeptical about this product at first. It is truly as great as everyone says! My brows look so much more defined and better shaped now that I have added this to my lineup! I still like to fill in with the powder and use the pencil more for lining (mostly just because it is a bit more expensive than my powder…and also because I still have so much powder), but this makes shaping my brows so much easier. The spoolie at the other end also is great for helping me blend it all seamlessly together.

Kat Von D Liquid Liner is Trooper – I have been in the market for a new liquid liner for a while now. I still love my gel liner, and find it best for when I want to wear a thicker line, but when I opt to wear lashes a liquid liner would be much more convenient. This product was also recommended for its longevity and water resistance. I also love that it is a true black and doesn’t need multiple layers for a good color payoff. Haven’t gotten to try it yet, but I definitely think that I won’t be disappointed.

BeautyBlender Solid Cleanser and Sponge – This cleanser is probably the best thing that I have used yet. I use it on my brushes as well as the BeautyBlender sponge, with great results. Everyone already knows the shpeal with the sponge; get it wet and it gives you that flawless, airbrushed look with any foundation – which is true. =) I love this little thing, so I picked up a backup while it was on sale.

Laura Mercier Gel Liner in Noir and Foundation Powder in 05 – These have been staples in my makeup routine ever since my wedding. The coverage and matte finish that I get from the powder is amazing; it’s the perfect finishing powder to any foundation that I wear. The gel liner is smooth and goes on with ease. I wouldn’t say that it is completely waterproof, as the corner of my eye seems to go missing by the end of a long day, but it is pretty close and wears nicely all day. I also don’t have any issues with creasing on my lid when I wear a thicker line (I have Asian mono-lids, so this is a huge deal!).

Urban Decay Urban Obsessions Bonus Kit – This was a Beauty Insider point perk that I found at the register! (It wasn’t displayed, but my sales lady told me about it) It comes with four mini shadows, a small 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero and a sample of their Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I swatched the four shadows (below) and found that the color, Guilt, was not a smooth as the Urban Decay shadows that I have come to love… it was a bit dry, hard to build, and hard to work with. I’m hoping that once I get into it a bit more, it will be better.  The other thing to note, is that the color, Bust, is actually a gray toned-brown color, but when swatched on me, it came out with a slightly purple hue.  That being said, the colors are still very pretty! And at just 500 BI points, was quite a good deal in my opinion!

That was it for this go-round; Actually, it was more like, all I thought my husband could handle me bringing home. =) I think I did a pretty good job at not going too overboard…I mostly purchased necessary parts of my routine and a couple of new goodies to try out for fun. I always love this sale, as it is the perfect excuse to indulge myself on my beloved beauty products! As if I needed another excuse to spend money on makeup… Oh well! Happy Shopping!
